Children, Sundays, and Our Ministry

Sunday Mornings

Infants-3 years:

We provide a nursery for children ages three and under during worship services. One of the benefits of meeting at the YMCA is they have a great nursery!

4 years-5th grade:

Children ages 4-5th grade come with their parents to worship but are then dismissed for a lesson during the sermon. Our teachers use "The Gospel Project" to share not only individual bible stories but how the stories connect to the overall hero of the Bible: Jesus.

Outside Sunday Morning

In addition to Sunday morning, we offer various opportunities for the children... From Vacation Bible Fish, annual Christmas Plays and Easter Egg Hunts to gatherings of children/parents for playdates throughout the summer, Harbor's Children's Program is growing and provides a meaningful way for families to get connected, build relationships and share the love of Jesus with others.

Parents

Several of our parents have gone through the New City Catechism with their children. A catechism is simply a series of questions and answers designed to help you memorize or learn the truths contained in the Bible. New City Catechism offers both an adult and children’s version on the computer, IPad and android devices. Children usually love anything with the iPad and this seems to be no exception to that rule. The children’s version is obviously a condensed version of the question and answer, with a prayer, a scripture verse, and a song or songs to which they can sing and dance. My children prefer the latter.

Safety

It is important to us that you know your children will be well cared for. All children’s volunteers have undergone background screening and many of our teachers have degrees and or years of experience teaching children.
